Seeking a Fund Accountant with strong accounting and analytical skills to join our team and contribute to the success of our clients.

We are Alter Domus, a leading provider of fund administration services to the alternative investment industry. Our team of experienced professionals is dedicated to delivering high-quality services to our clients, and we are looking for a talented Fund Accountant to join our team.

The Fund Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Recording and reconciling daily cash transactions with the bank and preparing related journal entries.
  • Preparing investor call and distribution calculations, as well as related entries.
  • Preparing management and carried interest fee calculations for review and booking related entries.
  • Reconciling net asset values (NAVs) using investment capital statements and booking valuation entries.
  • Preparing accurate and timely client deliverables, including financial statements, investor statements, distribution notices, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintaining investment and investor data within our data platform.
  • Supervising and mentoring a team of Associate Fund Accountants and Fund Accountants.
  • Administering, reporting, and reviewing industry standards.
  • Responding to auditor queries.
  • Preparing, reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records, financial statements, and footnotes to assess accuracy and completeness.
  • Performing self-reviews of work to ensure attention to detail.
  • Developing leadership skills by demonstrating a willingness to lead projects and offer input.
  • Reviewing documents to ensure compliance with client agreements.

Key qualifications and skills:

  • Strong academic background in accounting, finance, audit, or economics.
  • Working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
  • Knowledge and experience in closed-end fund administration is an advantage.
  • Up to 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • High level of IT literacy with strong Excel and Word skills.
