Design Engineer - Intralogistics Expert

Dematic is a global leader in innovative supply chain solutions. We've been redefining logistics through technology, excellence, and collaboration for decades.

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Lithuania. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering cutting-edge conveyor technology for container and light unit load applications.

About the Role:
  • Develop project-specific approval layouts based on customer and sales input.
  • Translate complex project scopes into detailed system concepts and layouts.
  • Review material flow, define special designs, and outline ergonomic workspaces.
  • Conduct mechanical safety assessments and define required safeguards.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams on risk assessments and site safety inspections.
  • Design and plan escape, transport, and maintenance access routes.
  • Cordinate with structural, installation, and controls teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Provide technical expertise during customer meetings and engineering reviews.
  • Support interface definitions with suppliers and other trades.
  • Produce detailed mechanical layouts, specifications, and installation drawings.
  • Define conveyor components (drives, belts, rollers, guides, platforms, etc.).
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs, requisitions, and controls engineering data lists.
  • Provide remote and on-site engineering support during installation.
  • Ensure thorough technical handovers to installation and commissioning teams.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level (bachelor's degree or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design and project engineering, ideally in a complex systems or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • A structured, methodical approach to engineering challenges.
  • Outstanding problem-solving capabilities and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse, multinational team.
  • Full working proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for short trips.

Bonus Points: Experience with Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Navisworks, SAP, or previous work in the intralogistics or material handling industry.
