• Centrally manage PostgreSQL and Cloud SQL databases across the organisation, supporting teams by abstracting operational complexity and enabling faster development.
• Take ownership of the full PostgreSQL database lifecycle—including provisioning, monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and performance optimisation.
• Act as a trusted advisor to engineering teams, promoting best practices in PostgreSQL usage, reliability, and scalability.
• Support the ongoing migration of workloads to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including hands-on involvement in database transitions.
  Provide guidance and mentorship in PostgreSQL administration to peers and less experienced engineers.
• Support and maintain some Microsoft SQL Server databases during and after their migration journey.

We're seeking curious, hands-on engineers who enjoy building reliable systems at scale. You don't need to tick every box, but experience in the following areas will help you thrive in this role:

• Solid hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production environments.
• Exposure to Cloud SQL and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a strong plus.
  A good understanding of database security best practices.
• Familiarity with SQL Server, especially in the context of migrations, is helpful.
• Experience working with containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
• Coding skills in Python or Go are preferred and will help you automate and optimise your work.
