Power Trader – Baltic Power Markets Nordbalance is an independent Baltic energy company active in electricity trading, balancing and portfolio optimization. We work with wind, solar and battery assets across Day-Ahead, Intraday and balancing markets. Our trading team manages real physical portfolios and continuously develops the way we forecast, trade and optimize them. As our portfolio and trading activities grow, we are looking for an experienced Power Trader to join our team. What you will do
• Trade and optimise electricity positions in Day-Ahead and Intraday markets
• Monitor Baltic and Nordic power markets, prices, interconnectors, weather, generation and system conditions
• Manage portfolio deviations and short-term market risks
• Work with wind, solar and BESS portfolios
• Participate in balancing and flexibility markets
• Analyse market behaviour, price movements and trading results
• Contribute to the development of trading strategies, processes and tools
• Make timely trading decisions within agreed risk limits What we are looking for
• At least 2 years of hands-on electricity trading experience
• Good understanding of Nord Pool and Baltic electricity markets
• Practical experience with Day-Ahead, Intraday and/or balancing markets
• Strong analytical and numerical thinking
• Ability to make timely and well-reasoned decisions under pressure
• Discipline in risk management and trading processes
• Good working English Experience with renewable generation, BESS, balancing markets, forecasting or portfolio optimization will be considered a strong advantage. A background in economics, finance, mathematics, engineering, data science or another quantitative field is useful, but practical electricity trading experience matters most. How we work This is a remote-first position. You can work from Lithuania or elsewhere in Europe, provided you have relevant Baltic/Nordic power market experience. We expect regular visits to Lithuania for several working days to work with the trading team, review results and exchange market insights. For those who prefer working from the office, Nordbalance has a modern office in central Kaunas with free parking, as well as office space available in Riga.
