Backend Development Specialist Opportunity

Tide is searching for a Backend Development Specialist to contribute to the development and maintenance of its innovative finance platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Python, AWS, and frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, and Flask.

The successful candidate will work closely with Tide's tech team to ensure system consistency and improve user experience. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining functional and stable web applications to meet both the company's and their customer's needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing, building, running, and scaling globally owned services from the service catalogue.
  • Working with product teams to select technology partners.
  • Dividing time between design/refinement, implementation, and mentoring other team members.
  • Aligning team vision and roadmap with target architecture within domains and ensuring success of complex multi-domain initiatives.
  • Translating requirements into well-engineered solutions with product owners, mobile/web engineers, data scientists, and other business members.
  • Making key contributions to Communities of Practice.
  • Career progression through the Tide Growth Framework.
Requirements
  • Proven work experience as a Python developer or strong desire to acquire expertise in this programming language.
  • Basic understanding of software engineering fundamentals (SOLID, ACID, Testing).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, and Flask would be an advantage.
  • Extensive experience integrating with or creating REST APIs.
  • (Desirable) Experience working with event-driven microservices or message queues.
  • (Desirable) An understanding of Salesforce integrations.
  • Experience working in Scrum and following Agile development practices.
  • Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Passionate about learning every day and sharing knowledge and experience every day.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range from €4,858 to €7,458 (before taxes-Lithuania), depending on skills and experience.
