About the team

You will be joining a newly forming engineering team focused on transforming how OVO's energy trading business manages millions of pounds worth of contracts - moving from spreadsheet-based processes to a robust, scalable CRM platform.

What You'll be doing

You will be a key contributor in the CRM transformation project, helping to build, integrate, and optimise a CRM system for OVO's energy trading business unit. Your focus will be on back-end development using TypeScript and Python, while ensuring seamless integration with systems like BigQuery and Workday.

You will:

  • Implement and configure Zoho CRM (or other CRM platforms if experience applies).
  • Build integrations with external third parties and internal systems (e.g. BigQuery, Workday).
  • Migrate and transform large sets of business data.
  • Set up lead and customer management workflows.
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional team, including developers and testers, with a strong agile mindset.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in software engineering.
  • Strong back-end engineering skills with solid experience in TypeScript.
  • Hands on experience integrating CRM Platforms or alternatively other SaaS 3rd party platforms.
  • Familiarity with integrating SaaS products and APIs.
  • Exposure to technologies such as Scala an/or Python would be ideal, but not required.
  • Understanding of scalable backend systems and microservices.
  • Experience working with or around out-of-the-box frontend components (e.g. in CRM systems).
  • Willingness to explore Zoho's proprietary scripting language (Deluge) as needed.
  • Comfortable working UK hours and participating in structured agile workflows.
  • Fluent English speaker with strong written and verbal communication skills.
